Yeah...I know...one of "those" threads!

Have always liked the Hella 500 series round lights. Now with the rectangle lights on the FJ62, I'm thinking the rectangle 550's would look more appropriate.

Anyone got any pics of either on their 62 that they'd care to share?

Thanks!

Ive always liked the round beam for lighting purposes. Especially in Alaska. Nights can be DARK....... and moose can be plentiful on the road. Its nice to light up a mile of road. I run the standard KC daylighter and I am pleased over the performance of the hella rec. 550 that first ran. Although the look better with my 60 rounds too.

I think you will prefer the performance of the round.
Maybe there is other opinions too.

Not a 62 owner ...but wanted to share my opinion.

I reckon you have to run rectangle, these are IPF's and I HATE them, worst light ever, but they were free. Waiting on the new range of Lightforce 200's to be released to upgrade.

If you upgrade your headlights and headlight harness, you may find that you don't need any other lights. My Cibies are 340 watts of light-up-the-night brightness on high beams. That said, I agree with MutleyFJ62, the rectangular ones are going to look better.

I run an IPF harness with headlights. I still needed aid or more light at night in Alaska. Its really dark up in Alaska in the winter....There is no man made light for hundreds of miles and the closest red light is 125 miles down the only road we have. And the moose are really big.

That's because an FJ60 only has 2 headlights. :) The two extra High Beam headlights on an FJ62 are like an extra set of driving lights for an FJ60. And I don't mean to suggest that the OP won't need extra lights for driving in the outback. You definitely don't want a moose coming through your windshield. What I am suggesting is that he upgrade his headlights and wiring harness and see how that looks before adding on additional lights.

Biomax... where did you source the LED light bar? I have been kicking around the idea of getting one but am curious about overall weight, lowest cost, how well they perform, etc.

Rigid Industries. Many sizes and selections. Feel free to email me to discuss pros/cons. They are EXPENSIVE so security is a big concern. Low power draw is a huge plus. Still haven't lit mine up as I still need to wire in the switch. I'll post pics on my thread when I do (should be soon).
