I have some lift blocks from my old Tacoma I was planning on cutting them down to 1" and installing on my 62. Main concern is linkage and steering shaft. Do I need to modify either? fan shroud? I searched but couldnt find anything definitive. any good links on diy and tips are appreciated thanks!

1"-2" really requires nothing special. Could also just cut some boat rollers, and reuse your original body mount bolts...

A 1-inch body lift has no impact on any of your systems, or at least it didn't for me. easy to do with a floor jack and some extension (I used a piece of 4x4 wood). a helper is useful for rebolting.

Mine definitly did not, but i redrilled it so the fan would stay centered. I had to cut out a bunch of the floor of the shroud to clear the tranny cooler lines. I dont see why you wouldnt take the 5 minutes to rework the shroud and cut it in half while you are at it to ease work on the front end of the engine.

My shroud would not clear a 1" BL, nor are some of the stock bolts long enough to accomodate the new blocks. Don't bother cutting the Taco blocks down. I 2nd the boat roller lift.

Seriously? My fan shroud came out perfectly. I considered adjusting it but it cleared with plenty of space and my cooling system has not been compromised by the lift at all.

When you guys did the boat roller lift, did you reuse all the old washers/rubber bushings/etc? I'm curious about the sequence of parts...say from top to bottom...

Was is like this?
  1. body sheet metal
  2. boat roller
  3. body mount
  4. original washer
  5. rubber bushing
  6. washer
  7. nut
Thanks!

I was looking into the boat roller lift as well but was unable to find any info on what was used and the order of parts.
Also if anyone had the lenght of the factory bolts so parts could be gathered ahead of time and not after all the bolts have been removed.

My thinking was just what you described.
Thanks
