When i try and start my truck in the morning after its been sitting all night i pump the gas once and try and start it and it won't start. But if i pump the gas once and pull the choke full and try and start the truck then she starts after about 2 seconds. Why do i have to pull the choke to have the truck start? What am i missing?

now when i have been driving the truck around and the engine is warm...when i make a stop and go back out to start the truck i pump once and she starts just fine.

Now could this possibly be a fuel pump issue or not?

That's how it is--look at the owner's manual:

Cold starts: pump twice, pull out choke, start her up.

Warm starts: push pedal to floor and hold, start her up (no choke).

Sounds like you have no real problems--good to go!

I agree, sounds normal to me.

Agreed.

Cold start: pump gas once or twice, pull choke all the way out start, then let the choke off as needed. this will vary depending on how fast the engine warms up (weather and all).

Warm start: push in gas all the way to the floor. Start. as soon as it starts let off the gas.

Good to go.

cheers

Sounds like i am good to go. I just wanted to make sure. Thanks guys.

Haha. Well, I don't have the money for that serious stash of cruisers.

I bought my first Landcruiser in November of 1972. Never been out of love.

As for the starting thing, I read that about three times and thought..."that's F'ing normal." When all else fails, read the documentation... 8)

225k miles and mine starts on the 2nd revolution every morning, hot or cold out, if I pull out the choke and give it a pump or two.
If only everything else were that reliable.
