Anybody got a measurement for how far the rear output hangs down below a toybox reduction case? I'm curious as to how a splitcase would fit in my mini truck. Gonna be running Fj60 axles, and the splitcase behind a mini truck toy case. Needing to know the measurements so I can see if my driveshaft will hit my gas tank under full compression.

Around 4 inches, we did one long time ago and without lots of sheet metal removal from the trans tunnel or body lift it is what it is...

The gas tank will need to be relocated.

Man, wasn't wanting to relocate the tank... Or I could put a thinner tank in the same spot from RCI...

Prolly get away with that, or even shorten it up a bit.

why all that work for 60 axles??

Bigger diffs, wider axles, bling factor for the rear offset, strong splitcase and haven't seen anybody do it in a mini truck. I don't like doing the same as what others do, I like to be different.

Its been done! :) Although not a "minitruck", rather its cousin, with a 3B/turbo/H55 etc... Alot of people said it couldn't be done, and had to relocate several things, but it works--and really well!!
Cheers!

Whatcha have to relocate? Mine is getting a fresh 22re and a W56.For clarification, its going in a 1st gen pickup. Haha!

Here's the link to some of it...https://forum.ih8mud.com/ca-bc-vancouver-island-cruisers/356766-4skinner-re-power.html
I guess i changed mine up a little more with the 3B diesel and 5spd. The drivetrain is quite a bit larger, but i did manage to squeeze it in. I had to fab a trans x-member which interferes with the spring shackles, the fuel tank relocated to the rear center section because of the offset diffs. The batteries are also tucked under the truck to get some weight in the back, and exhaust routing was interesting. All in all, i really like the added width of the axles, fuel mileage and torque of the 3B. Get some photos posted of your swap!
Cheers!
