Well I am thinking of building an 80 and selling my 4bt fj60 project. Basically I am going to be doing a lot of highway driving between expedition spots throughout the US, Baja, and BC and the better insulated more comfy 80 fits the bill. So what I potentially have up for sale:
THE GOODS:
-'84 fj60 body and frame that are pretty much rust free
-Rebuilt front and rear axles (rear is full floater)
-Axles have perches weld in SOA config. and front has been c'n'ted with 5 deg. of caster
-New stock height safari springs with long AAl's
-New greasable OME anti-inversion shackles
-New greasable OME spring pins
-New bushings
-Cummins 4bt turbo diesel w/~120K on it
-Volvo intercooler
-AA GM-->LC beelhousing kit
-New h55 5sp tranny
-Rebuilt LC splitcase (pre-'85 w/ modified shifter)
-GM hydroboost and MC
-Frame mounts for 4bt welded in to frame
-Engine mounts (hydrolic from f-150) and mounting brackets
-It's not finnished- I have done a lot of work on this project collecting parts and fitting things together. I am almost done with the tranny x-member (which I will finish). The major items that need to be taken care of are:
-Exhaust
-cooling lines
-lengthening of Front drive shaft
-adapting toyota-->GM braking
-Interior (I have a complete interior but right now it is not installed)
-custom PS lines
-fuel lines
-bumpers
I am out of time and came across a nice 80 for the right price that is already pretty built. It will one day get a diesel (most likely a 4bt) but for now I need to get back out and enjoy the outdoors and the 80 will get me where I want to go. I might be interested in selling the parts individually but it would be better to at sell the rolling chassis as it will be a lot easier for some one to pick up. I am looking for somewhere in the neighbor hood of $5500 for everything, but make an offer if you are interested in finishing this project. I am located in MD just outside of D.C.
