I have a chance to pick up a 82 fj60 cheap. It is rusted in the rockers and the quarters. The rear frame is in bad shape too. The engine starts right up and the interior is in really good shape. It has AC and all the original parts. I'm a 40 guy so I have no idea what something like this is worth. What would you guys pay for somthing like this? This guy didnt even know it was a 60.

Me personally I wouldn't give more than 1,000 to 1,200. Seems it needs a lot of
work. Rust repair is no joke and expensive, then again it all depends what your'e intentions are. Restore it or Wheel.
.

Agreed. Nothing more than $1200. I got my 62 with zero rust (and I mean Zero) for $1500 (but the tranny was bad), and delivered to my door from Jackson, MS to Gainesville, FL. The truck was $1000, the $500 was the delivery charge.

I was thinking parting it out. I can probably get it for $500.00 I would like the steering box out of it.

There is no way I would give more than 400-500 for the truck described...

x2 on the $ involved in fixing rust issues. I wouldn't pay more than 1000-1200 for it. like bgarcia88fj62 said "it depends on what your intentions are........ fix or wheeler!

You will make money parting it out at that price. How much youll make vs the work involved I dont know but if your wanting to try it sounds like a good place to start.

It depends on where you live but I wouldn't buy a rusted 60 unless it was for a parts truck. There are plenty of rust free or little rust 60s around for not much in some areas.

I would buy it as cheap as possible. Let him name the first price and then work from there. Just ask him what he wants for it.

$500-1000, no more.

If you can get it for 500.00 You can make that back in parts. Where you located?
