I want to start by saying a few things. First off I have not spoken to nor do I know the owner, just exchanged one email with them which you will find below:
1-Add- 85 Toyota Landcruiser FJ60 Truck 4x4 4sp Straight 6cyl 162k cold AC
2-Add- 85 Toyota Landcruiser FJ60 Truck 4x4 4sp 162k cold AC
This truck has been offered for about two weeks now and has a very similar situation of one that went on EBAY a few months back. I cannot vouch for the legitimacy of the ad or individual but somethings i wanted to bring to others attention
Story is stated in craigslist ad. There are just a few items that don't add up, for one the way the ad describes the truck, and second, the 4runner in the background, not what I picture a grandmother owning not looking to purchase but then again if you grew up around them then I guess you could say it was understandable.
Regardless the story is this: Owner had the truck for sale, someone (not sure who) wanted to buy it and needed till monday, the seller then offered to hold the truck unless someone would offer more then the person holding the truck was willing to pay ($2,500), needless to say the holding buyer decided to back out and now the truck is being offered at a lower price ($2,000), which is less than the owner paid originally.
I sent an email regarding this:
I just want to let you know I think it is absolutely absurd that you would tell someone that you would hold the truck till monday and then tell others that if they will pay you more you will sell it out from under the original individuals. Craigslist is not an auction.
Some may even wonder if you actually have a buyer.
and the response was as follows:
I do have a buyer, not seller, & he did tell me that I could try to get more if I wanted to. So in the interest of trying to get all my money back & the fact that it is still mine, I will do whatever I like. I'm trying to auction it off, & the buyer does know what I am doing. He is still planning on coming to get it on Monday if I still have it. Of course, he didn't leave one cent in deposit & this is none of YOUR business anyway. You need to find something better to do with your life. What a huge waste of my time & yours. Pitty Pitty.
I do not want to hurt a seller just make interested parties aware.....keep in mind the email response I recieved was from "Ethriftmall@aol.com"
