I searched using google and the mud site but can't seem to find the post/thread I read about a member using a bluetooth adapter with the stock OEM radio.
Any help would be much appreciated.
I believe the post was with in a thread in the last 6 months. I thought I had saved the link but didnt.

As of now Im doing 2 5x7 Pioneer TS-G6845R in the cargo area and 2 5 1/4" Pioneer TS-G1320S.
Not sure what amp I should run so if you Mudders got any recommendations, they'd be much appreciated. Not looking for anything fancy, just adequate for the 4 speakers.

pardon me for these simplistic questions...im clueless!!

-the original/stock radio will run 4 speakers and an amp?
- are these in your doors? "2 5 1/4" Pioneer TS-G1320S"
-set up for the 2 5x7 Pioneer TS-G6845R in the cargo area please.

ive just located an OEM radio and wondering what my speaker/amp options are.

tyvm...

A friend of mine who wires cars for a living recommended I get an amp for the 4 speakers and radio. I’m just following his lead. From what I understand is that the amp has its own power that amplifies the signal from the radio to the speakers. To run 4 speakers I think that it’s recomended to have an amp involved.

The speakers are not in the vehicle. There aren’t any speakers in the 60 at the moment. Or a radio.

what size amp?

I use this Bluetooth to FM transmitter to get Bluetooth with my stock stereo. It plugs into the cigarette lighter outlet. Works great, automatically pairs with my phone when I start up the car. I’m sure something wired in directly would sound better, but with my stock system it’s definitely not the limiting factor for audio quality. $17 on amazon prime.

You might reach out to @Willard for some help here. I am not sure if what he is doing applies or could help you but I know he is trying to make use of his recently revived OEM radio with modern accessories like Ipods and phones. Not sure if he was doing Bluetooth or not, but seemed to have some pretty good ideas on what was needed to facilitate the use of the factory radio with modern stuff. Using something like this I think:

Perhaps the BT thing you have coupled with the above might help you. Anyway apologies if this does not apply. HTH.

So I am not using Bluetooth I have zero use for wireless radio signals from my phone and the 60 is to loud for a hand free car speaker.
I have thought about it, but while bluetooth is ok, it is not great and connecting to this via phone, I figure hard wired is better as the Audio will need all the help it can get, plus I have other things to connect.

I need to have at any time, My phone or XM radio connected to my stock radio. The unit Robert posted above is what I will be using as it plug into the Antenna on the vehicle.
I will add this as well for the aux plug. Amazon product ASIN B003B01AHS
From there I will be using a powered subwoofer/Amp that will store under the seat for that extra umph. this will also drive the 4 speakers.
This way I can keep my stock radio, have XM, phone (current design is one at a time) have an AUX port and still look stock in the dash as all of this will be wired through my center console.
Due to the what I will be running, I need a 3.5mm plug. Plus I want to be able to plug other things in here like my iPad GPS for off road (no radio is used then).

Center console will also hold
In cab winch control
USB plug (2)
12V plug
Various switches.

Thanks @Robert Franzke. Good ideas there @Willard
Yeah handsfree speaker is completely out for sure. Hard wired does sound better that you mention it. Would it be a power supply to charge the phone as well? Sorry if thats a stupid question, Im new to all the radio/electrical stuff.

What amp are you considering?

I got in touch with a couple of those guys.
Way out of this 60’s budget.

So the FM modulator from Redirad is that simple of a plug n play?

Ouch. Must have been using the gold-plated wiring option. Out of my 60's budget as well.

I had my radio redone locally. It is more than just wiring. They took the radio completely apart clean the slides, repainted the needles and made sure everything mechanically. worked perfectly. Then they upgraded the electronics to four channel and much better sound. It was $385 . No it’s not cheap but the option was buying a single din radio and putting it somewhere or in the dash. I didn’t like that option.

Bluetooth , hands free phone and USB was another $225. I didn’t opt for that. I can add later though

No, it isn’t cheap, but people spend a lot more than that in audio in their rides.

Like the one from Audiovox I am using yes.
Power, ground and plug in the antenna, tune to a specific frequency and away you go.

The only thing mine adds is the switch. Turn it off and you are now bypassing the FM Modulator.
