Just curious what manuals everyone likes to use. Do you prefer paperback or electronic? What brand? I'm looking on Specter and there are several from Chilton and other brands. I'm looking for general repair manuals and would like to dive into the emissions (doesn't sound like fun) and differential to gain some knowledge. I'm no mechanic but definitely mechanically inclined so any learning material would be great too.

Search for posts by "gregnash" -- in his signature line he has links to download electronic versions of various manuals...very helpful, and free. The emissions manual is critical if you need to tackle that black hole of misery. Download and take a CD to a copy shop - the toyota manuals tend to be dense.

If someone in your life wants to give you a really special gift, have them purchase the Toyota factory manuals from SOR. They are very nice. Electronic is good, but bound & printed is the best.

@Output Shaft is right though—there's no substitute for a printed copy. Get both so you can print the axle rebuild sections from the PDFs and not muck up your good printed copies.

Solo tengo curiosidad por saber qué manuales le gusta a todo el mundo. ¿Prefieres los de papel o los electrónicos? ¿De qué marca? Estoy buscando en Specter y hay varios de Chilton y otras marcas. Estoy buscando manuales de reparación generales y me gustaría profundizar en las emisiones (no parece divertido) y el diferencial para adquirir algo de conocimiento. No soy mecánico, pero definitivamente tengo inclinación por la mecánica, así que cualquier material de aprendizaje también sería genial.
