I am looking for a full length roof rack for an 80 series. Preferably something that is very similar to a tradesman by kaymar. If anyone has one or has information on getting something like that cheaper then what M-A-F wants for it email me at: Bryank321@hotmail.com

Re:FJ-40 Parts Wanted! Please help!!!

Did you ever find a tailgate? Rollbar or swing out doors? I'm looking for a rollbar, but I have an extra set of swing out doors and a right side tire carrier to match.
My email address is:hllrhd@hotmail.com

family roll cage

OK, here's the deal, I'm trying to locate a smittybilt weld in roll cage kit (used for the front), I plan on using it on the rear to complete the family cage. The kit has been discontinued recently and I haven't been able to locate any online. No source locally to construct, so I need something comparable and as cost effective. Most custom fabricators are through the roof with prices. Any ideas or kits laying around someone's garage? ???

Re:family roll cage

fsusteve,

I am also looking for a Family cage in back. A local cruiserhead recommended the following: Use a stock main U bar bolted to the stock rear location in place of the small side bars. Then have straight bars cut to fit between the two main U bars using both sets of brackets. I may also weld in one or two additional overhead bars between the two mains. The advantage I see is it should bolt right in and you will also have an upper mount point for rear shoulder belts (forward facing rear bench seat). Not to mention, it should look original. I hope the top fits over it when i'm done... don't see why it wouldn't. Good luck finding a set of original bars in your area as the shipping cost is too high for me. :p

Re:family roll cage

At least that's one option, finding a stock rollbar locally could be tough. 2" tubing should be easier. I'm contacting Smittybilt today to see if they have any cages left anywhere. Thanks.

Re:family roll cage

You may also want to check out metaltechcage.com. They should have some good options. :p

Re:need 2F for 77'fj55 in southeast

I have a 76 out of a 40 that was pulled for an engine conversion. I'll do a compression check this week and let you know what it looks like. Do you need a long block, short block, and/or ???

Thanks
John

Re:77 FJ40 Parts Needed Thanks

I may be interested in the second roll bar if shipping to south Fla isn't too high. Smittybilt no longer makes the tlc roll cages, and I haven't been able to locate any source with any in inventory.

cut and turned front axle

i know this sounds kinda stupid but i thought i would try. i was wondering if some one would trade me a front axle housing from an fj40 that has been cut and turned for the SOA for a stock axle housing (i need the cut and turned one)i am locaed in St. louis and would be willing to travel maybe 2 1/2 hours away to pick up and drop off and it doesnt nessacarily need the perches for the SOA but does need to be cut and turned

thanks
david

Re:cut and turned front axle

Proffits cruisers sells an SOA kit that includes a SOA cut and turned axel for ~$450. I think the web site is www.proffitscruisers.com
