Hope nobody views this as double posting, but I wanted to take a second and post a thread in the body section for those that don't frequent the 60 forum.

Shot my 60 in SPI epoxy today. Turned out awesome! I don't have enough space on this page to type how happy I am with the product and the company (no affiliation), Southern Polyurethanes Inc rocks!!

I stumbled across SPI on one of the hotrod boards while looking for recommendations on epoxy primer. My 60 project https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/199378-84-fj60-resto-10.html#post4014661 was in bare steel and I badly needed to get it primered before leaving to Japan for a 1 month business trip tomorrow. I called up SPI and spoke with Barry, nicest guy I've ever dealt with. I was figuring I would need 1 gallon sprayable, Barry helped me save a bunch of money by telling me 2 quarts would do it. He also gave me a few pointers on how to prep the 60 & spray the epoxy. Placed my order & it arrived within 2 days! AWESOME SERVICE!!

At the same time that the epoxy order was placed I was in the market for a decent primer gun. I ended up buying a Sharpe FINEX FX300 from spraygunworld.com (worst company ever!) Long story short, my order still hasn't shipped (after 3 weeks), and they are dragging their feet on refunding my money (even though they debited my account the day I placed the order). . . BS:mad:. We only have one local body supply shop that carries guns & they only had the Finex in a 1.8 tip.

So I called up Barry at SPI and explained my problem. He reassured me it would be no problem, that even though the epoxy sprays best through a 1.4/1.5 I could make the 1.8 work (again, awesome service!). Picked up the gun and started spraying this morning and immediately started fisheyeing. . .I freaked out a little bit, but then figured I'd call Barry at SPI ;). He explained that with the 1.8 tip there were some tweaks I would need to do that I wouldn't normally do. He walked me through my gun setup on the phone and VIOLLA! it sprayed beautifully! Pics are in my thread on the 60 forum, feel free to take a look.

It's just nice to know that even with $hitty companies like Spraygunworld around, there are still good companies that really care about their customers (like SPI). So, if you're in the market for an epoxy (or any other paint for that matter) give Barry a call!!

what adjustments did you make to eliminate the fish eye.
