I do have pics. I have to dig them up out of storage (not digital, it was 1997), and get them scanned.

A little more detail:
It was hit in the left rear quarter panel while parked, by a truck that was backing up. The panel was pushed in about 3 inches above the tire, while the left rear door suffered some minor damage. Neither window was damaged. Both rear rims were damaged (the right one was against the curb) and the claims adjuster figured the entire rear axle was shot, without even crawling under the rig, let alone getting it into a shop for a diagnosis.

The insurance company totaled it (cost to fix the quarter panel and axle put it over what they thought it was worth), I negotiated and got a settlement plus the truck.

I took it to a frame shop here in SD, they did all their measurements and inspections of the frame and the rear axle/wheels, and nothing was out of alignment.

After the cost of the body work on the quarter panel and door, and two new rims, I had my cruiser back. Only problem was the salvaged title.

I will get the old pics, may be a couple of days.

Here are the pics from 1997. :frown:
This is the reason for the salvaged title.
But like I said, some body work on the quarter panel/door, two new rims, and I was on my way. :D

Also, when I said "smog ready" I meant that it was smogged two weeks ago.

More pics from present-day. The accident happened just after the engine re-build. So, I have put about 60,000 miles on it post-accident, over the last 10 years.

The two boxes you see in the rear are 6x9 speakers; they have extra wiring and can be moved around.
Didn't want to cut the panels.
The rig is totally stock.

the basket for the Yakima roof rack is not shown in the pics but it is included in the sale. Used twice, worth about $700.

Gas prices are looking better these days. I'm still on the market!! $4,500 OBO.
Very few miles over the last couple of years; used it as a daily driver for the past three weeks just to get the cobwebs off. Ran fine, put about 1,500 miles on it. Kept it at 60 on the freeway and waved at everyone as they went speeding all around me shaking their fists.
