Has anyone ever thought about leaving your flat springs on your 60/62 and installing coils from a 80 in the same location as the bump stop and the top of the axle are? My thought is that the coil would raise the truck back up to stock height. Is this possible or a retarded idea?

I've thought of 'helper' coil springs in same location . . .

Concern: will spring compress to 'zero' so to speak, with little down motion. Kinda like hitting bump stop well before bump stop....might that transfer too much 'bang' to the frame ?

That's why I've not done it...and talked my self out of it...

BUT have seen pic's of someone that did , thought I saw 'em here (on MUD)

Why not use the firestone helper airsprings?
But my question on the airbags is will they alow for the drooop and how much can they be compressed? You can get them dirt cheap they like 100 bucks for 2 airbag springs made to fit a fj-62 cruiser

how did it work tho come on now what u call a bandaid might be a god send to someone with out alot of cash to blow right now
