I have an 87 fj60 and a set of 80 series third row seats I was running in my 40. I have them bolted to a frame. My kids are older so I need either 5 point harnesses or use the factory 3 point 80's seatbelts which I have. Question is how do I set them up in the rear. I was thinking of adding a back section to the seat frame see pic where the blue lines are the seatbelts and the red dots are the mounting points. Then on the side add a support brace. Does this look safe in the pic or do I need to do something else? I would be using square tubing. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Gary

Lets see a photo of your setup. I need to put in a 3rd row seat and thought puting 80 series jump seats would be too much of a pain to install. I was thinking a bench from a jeep or small geo or something. Your idea on the jump seats sounds cool.

Yes I looked at those. They have the seatbelts built in. I have the seats and separate seat belts I just need to know if the rear frame I have drawn out would be safe to mount to or if I need to put a cage in or?

thanks,

yeah I just thought it'd give you some ideas...But I see what you mean since theirs are built in to the seats bu they're neat. Let me know what you come up with, I think your drawing seems OK but this is safety we're talking about so I hesitate to say it would work...fear!
