I have never seen a fuel line cover like what is on your fuel pump.

Which part? That is the one that came off the truck, not a replacement. But that motor is a remanufactured one, so not the original stocker. Looks like the rest of the accessories were the originals though...

Are you painting it yourself?

The body is going to a shop to get painted. I dont have the time to do it myself, and it is supposed to be back on the road by Sept 1. Should be about 4 weeks until the body is done and back on the frame. Then 4 weeks to install glass, interior, and wiring. Flawless plan, eh?

Body has made it down to the shop that is going to paint it. Plan for now is Cygnus White, with 1982's Nordic Blue instead of the original green. I will get pic's of the work as I get over to the shop.

I have been busy cleaning up misc parts like seatbelts, engine accessories, and rebuilding the heater box, etc...not exciting, but worth it in the end..

Holy millions of spot welds batman.

That's the only way to keep the panels from distorting when welding in patches. If you do a continuous weld you'll end up with a wavy panel and LOTS of corrective work. A continuous series of spot welds till they all overlap is the best way. It allows the metal to stay relatively cool and not distort too much as you weld it up. You start at one end and do a spot every inch or two till you get to the other end then come back and put a spot in between every previous one and so on till it's continuous.
