I initially thought this was correct for my 1970 40 series but turns out it's a 45 tank (taller and the filler neck is angled slightly differently). Since OEM tanks for my year 40 are still available, I'll just by new versus modding this one to work for me.
It's in nice shape, was tanked and one small spot fixed. Looks like there was also a previous fix by some other owner. It been epoxy primed and then 3 top coats of single stage urethane. Has sender but no clue if it works.
