I am in need of some help from anyone that has a Australian FJ45 or 40. I have a gas 1982 FJ45 from Down Under and was doing so cleaning on the engine and while looking at the distributor and the carb I notice that the carb has its vacuum line capped off with a small black plastic plug and the distributor has no vacuum advancer mounted to the body, no vacuum line. Its just a Toyota distributor. The stock number on the distributor is 19100-61091 witch comes back as a 1977-1979 CND model distributor. Can anyone tell me it this is correct for a Australian FJ45 for this year. If not what should be installed by part number. I am thinking that this should have some kind of advance system. Runs fine.
Yes the truck is kind of new to me.
Wish I had a Austrian owners manual for this year. Any help would be a great.

Thanks
DW

I'm going to guess it is just a centrifugical advance.. weights held in by springs spin further out and advance the spark more as RPM increase, simple, effective and reliable.

I am sure you are correct but I want to find out what belongs in the rig.
It seems fine, has a bit of a hesitation.
Cheers

I think this number up dates but not sure. Try 19100-61010, that should be the non emission vacuum advance destributor for mid 70's and later 2F motors.

Thanks, I will take a look at that model number and see were it leads me. Pretty hard to match up items on a NONE USA Land cruiser in the states without a book for that region, especially in the emissions area.

Excellent

Aussie 25, thanks much for the information . That will a big help in finding the correct parts to put back into the old gal. I will start looking about for a dist with that part #. Any good web sites in Australia I could check to get some possible leads on a replacement, (salvage yards and such).
Have to ask are the owners manuals (came with FJ from factory) hard to come by over there?

Thanks much
