That is badass..... they had the prototype at sema a few years ago

1 ton running gear
LS series engine or diesel
Atlas transfer case, and a number of different transmissions.

That is the FJ cruiser that Toyota should have the balls to make

Way overpriced IMO. Saw one at sema and they are sweet - but you could build two for that cost, and put a badass diesel in it.

That Bronco is bad ass too.

The Jeeps front end looks goofy.

Can't afford any of them.

I actually read in GQ mag yesterday the broncos are made with actual bronco body panels from trucks they buy that are in ok shape because aftermarket panels for them are so hard to find that are actually decent

If you did it yourself, maybe but based on a 40 i saw built a few years ago that had no expenses spared really the bill was close to 75k all in so it adds up faster than one would think if you built an all new truck.

The body panels are new and stamped using the original tooling purchased from Ford.

If you could secure a body for around $20K the rest could be built for another $30K with no trouble. Icon has quite a profit margin on these vehicles.

Over priced..... maybe. I used to think the same thing till tried to price out a FJ40.
Everything is band new and custom made
axles, gears, lockers, engine, harness, trans, t-case, body..... etc... I'm sure if you tried to get another company to make one from the ground up (which is what this is) you would go over their price. I think I read somewhere that the frame is completely custom to Icon.

But I do agree. Doing the work yourself with a FJ40 starting point you could come out on top easily.

The jeep is a CJ3 clone.... the front isn't tht far off from what they did look like.
In face I like the icon Cj3 better than the 40 they have but that 44 is by far my favorite.

Didn't see that many in LA before I left but did see a few.

12" travel Coil suspension with front and rear sway bars

Not impressed at all here - I get that out of SOA.

Nothing is really all that "custom"... it's just pretty much off the shelf GM and aftermarket parts, and essentially an Aquala body. Now the powdercoating is pretty slick. I used to drool over these things, but now I just think it's nothing I would ever spend the money on, even if I actually had that kind of money.

They did a great job finding a niche market where someone can get a really cool retro vehicle with a solid build quality at a one stop shop. I'm not knocking what they have done here, because they don't cut any corners in their build quality...just not my cup of tea.
