Toying around here with the idea of fuel injecting the 40, but one of the drawbacks is the room to mount a stock air filter and mount it to a Safari Snorkle. I'm looking for pics of this if anyone's done it.

I also keep wondering with a perfectly tuned 2F, RV cam, head shaved .100, electronic ignition, and stock carb is it worth it.

Hi All:

If you use the head, intake air filter box, etc. from a 3F-E then fuel injectioning the 2F shouldn't be too much trouble (lots of info about his swap here on MUD.)

Going from memory here, the difference between the two models of Safari Snorkels (SS-400-HF and SS-401-HF) for the 40/45 Series Land Cruiser is that each mounts on the opposite side of the engine compartment than the other; just order-up which ever model suits the 3F-E air filter box better.

Good luck!

Alan

3FE 40's...once you drive one - you won't go back to a 2F.

Here is a picture of my engine compartment if that helps you.

Plenty of room for a snorkel my problem is more room for the air box, but there is always a way around a problem.

4"intake.
