Hey everyone, I am helping my Dad with his 75 fj40 restoration project this weekend and his plans include pulling the tub off, he already has it completely stripped and unbolted. My question is how heavy is the tub approximately? Can 3 people pick it up? if not than how many will it take? I realize there are more creative solutions such as lifts but man power is all we have access to. Any help appreciated, Thanks.

Three people are plenty. Myself and another guy removed my tub. There was a third person there but he wasn't doing much to help besides being a guy names Chris. If you have a engine hoist, it's really easy. Hoist the heavier end up and two guys can carry the other side. That is how a guy and I transferred my tub to a trailer. Anyways let me know if you need some help.

I don't think the Tub weighs more than 300 pounds but I could be off a little bit. Anyways if you need to borrow my engine hoist its yours to borrow. Or if you need help removing the tub.

i have access to an engine hoist but was hoping I wasn't going to need it and now I don't think i will. Thanks alot for offering to help but if 3 guys can do it than I can make it work. Much appreciated.

I'm not a big guy, it took me and a cousin to get my tub of a trailer and oput it on the frame. They are not extremely heavy.
