ed, i'm not a hundred percent on this, like 99.8, but i believe it is 78-83. butch will tell us all shortly.

Ed,

Any 40-series tops will "fit" on your truck. The big differences were with rear ambulance doors (early 75-77 have rounded corners, late 78-83 have square, but either can be made to fit.

If you get a complete hardtop, rear cross brace, rear doors/lift gate and front doors from a 1970 or newer 40, they will work on your truck...unless I'm wrong!

the front doors from 78 on were wider, and shaped different at the top(window area). i don't believe that you can effectively put older doors on a newer 40, and have them work, at least not properly.
the ambulance door thing is more of an issue at the bottom(tub part) than the top,but you would have all sorts of other issues that you wouldn't even notice this one.
butch will correct me if i'm wrong, so wait for his response, then we will all know.

The Top In Question Is 69-74......it Will Fit All Years With The Matching Tailgates.
The Bottoms Of The Rear Ambulance Doors Was Rounded In 79, However This Can Be Done With A Grinder In 4 Minutes To Make The 75-78 Doors Fit The Later Models.
