I purchased a OCD Beetle sift top from @little_joe after he rolled his 40 and then sold it. I had the Real Steel soft top frame cleaned and powder coated and after two weeks of waiting, Real Steel FINALLY sent the hardware kit. (19 pieces of non-special nuts and bolts for $35 plus $25 FedEx and two weeks waiting. But that is another story.)

Is there anyone close by that has the Real Steel bow kit, or the OEM bows, that would allow me to inspect so I can do the installation correctly? Of course there aren't any instructions so I am flying blind. @little_joe was a lot of help but all he was able to do was pass along what he bought from someone else.

Thanks in advance!

Hey David - I have an OCD top and part reel steel bows part paki bows.

While I recently took down my top (for the summer) I can help. Just let me know how.

edit: I was wondering why you were getting a 'hardware' kit from them...I should have asked vs assuming it was something special. The only 'special' parts would be those rear brackets and the ones that go on the front windshield (which are the same as used with the hardtops).

Thanks for the offer Jon. As I said before, I am going about this blind, having never installed a OEM type soft top before and I want to do it right the first time and not have to come back later to alter a screw-up. As for the hardware, I didn't know what was used so I blindly bought a "kit" thinking it would have the required parts so I didn't have to go on a scavenger hunt. I didn't know that I would get a screwing from RSCP.

What I need to know about is the attachment on the top of the windshield for the channel. I know there is a channel but my windshield doesn't have any attachment holes pre-drilled. Since is was originally a FST I was hoping the holes would be there so I could bolt the channel in but they are gone.

The B pillar is another question. I know there needs to be some welding done there but I am unsure as to how high the bow needs to be before I have the welding done.

Sorry for the stupid questions. Just trying to be careful.
