This is a long shot....but perhaps you have a kit sitting on the shelf...from the long lost TLCconcepts.com company or a heavily discounted BTB kit....

Let me know.....with a PM.

I may have to make them....

I received the following note from IPOR

Have you tried Ruff Stuff?

Yes...I saw their products, very beefy and a great reputation. I was just trying to find a cheaper option.

Any other thoughts????? This is brewing to be a winter project....

may i ask why you want to box the frame in the rear?

not everyone has the parts laying around but on mine i used acutoff rear frame section because i tow heavy stuff with it . i trimmed them up welded them in worked good for me .but the truck is real stiff not as much flex as our other ones .but i went to the rear crossmember maybey over did it a bit good luck

I know it is controversial for some and can lead to stiffening, and speculative cracking in other places. I have some minor frame rot above my shackles. I want to cut it out and perhaps just weld some scab plates over the problem areas. I worry about cracks given the existing damage. Pics might help...perhaps I'll toss this over to tech with some photos....hmmm.

Regarding frame patching.....I have not gone this route. When I removed my old tub, about a month ago, I was able to inspect the frame much more closely. What I thought were substantive cracks, were not. There are a few issues, but I should be able to drill out the existing cracks, then fill them. I plan on posting up the repair as I go.

So no, I did not purchase a frame boxing kit nor install one.
