Sorry Mate! Moving too fast for my own good...

1978 Toyota Land Cruiser

I looked at the one you show but can't afford $6K. Also, everyone says to stay away from diamond plate, rigs that are mod'd, no running light on the side, non-stock seats, etc. etc. etc. It's making me crazy. Anyway, it looks like a great FJ; just outta my range of $5K. Will just have to save until the spring I guess....unless this one works out.

Weelllll....cant get more modded than the one in the link...completely new plastic body means it has been stripped to the frame and reassembled - always a scary thought unless you know who has done the body off restoration. It also means (generally) that this is not an AZ cruiser, and had to have the body replaced for a REASON = rust. ALSO - it is not running, and somone's current project, so you dont know what your getting. If it needs a master cylinder, that takes about 20 minutes to put on...there must be more than that and a tank - just my .02 cents. The other however, I have wheeled with personally, has lockers, and is original body...

Thanks for the mention Josh. I've actually got a deal pending on the 40 at the moment with a decent list of followups if it does fall through.

Since posting that, the guy says he had the master cylinder on order. It came in and he installed that, the seats and the gas tank. He says everything is good to go and running. But, I'm not going to send the money until I see it or if someone from the board says its cool....or if they know the guy.

Anyway, it's a standoff I guess. If you hear of anyone selling a good '40 in the $5-6K range...holla!
