no connection...

Thought I saw a tan FJ40 for sale in the public used car lot that's just east of the south memorial pakway near Crystals...

Had to work and drove by there coming in the arsenal.

Did not get a good look at it but looked like a 40..

Yeah I drove through and looked at it yesterday. Didn't get out but it looks like it has been painted with liner and it had an $ 11,000 sign on it. I will swing by it again this afternoon and take a walk around it, I only live a mile from it.

I got out and looked at it. Yep I didn't read the price wrong, he is asking $11,000 for it. It is a 1979 that has 125,000 miles on it. It has the 2f inline 6 in it. It has a couple of lock boxes in it, no doors and a bolt in roll cage. It has lockers and is not lifted. It is a trail rig. I took a couple of pictures of it. I don't know what to say ....... that price is out there.

1979 toyota fj-40 land cruiser

I was in huntsville for work yesterday and saw it on the lot, it is a 79. It looked rough from across the street but was actually pretty well built - yellow top, very clean 2f, arb lockers front rear, new bfg 33X10.5's, full cage, ome lift, no noticeable body rust but it was covered in bedliner. With a little cleaning and some minor cosmetic work it would be a very nice looking truck. There was a longlook jamboree sticker on the back and the name on the email seems familiar to me from the fj cruiser board. I took some pictures with my phone, but the craigslist pics are better.

I gotta say... given the equipment on it.... it's probably been very taken care of... yellow top is just an example of "spare no expense" when doing maintenance to it... ARB's F&R... another example when you can go cheap with Lock-Rights or something... him saying it is ready to be driven daily... I REALLY wish I had 8K cause I'd offer it in a second.... I eventually want a late model 40 to daily drive... this is just the type that could be it...
Like what Matt says, the small cosmetic stuff can easily be fixed...

From what I saw it would take a good weekend's worth of work to get it daily driver clean. The cage needs to be repainted, seats need covers, dash pad is cracked to hell, both shift knobs are missing(probably the perils of putting on a used lot like that). Tires look to be brand new and the engine was shockingly clean.

been chatting texts/email with him since i posted. He's a mud member just not on here much, been a TLCA member for many years... as suspected this is a well maintained rig... wish he wanted Lorena...
