I am still looking for an FJ40 fine spline differential, to carry as a spare on Marlin's run.

I am willing to beg, borrow, barter, or even purchase one for the right price.

If you have one and are willing to discuss options, please let me know.

I thought the 3:73 changed in 79?...???...idk... I plan to have an extra third in 4:56 sittin in a bucket tomorrow this time... Court's gonna learn how to install LC diff... :D
 
Done...all systems ARB working...Thank you Tim and Courtney...Michael I do now have a 4:56 open third sittin' in a bucket... I realize you want 4:11...not planning on hauling it through but you're welcome to...why are you so sure of needing an extra third? I would think if you're fine spline something has been changed for a 77... but wtf do I know... I am not an expert for sure...

Don't necessarily need one, just like to have one on hand for security and piece of mind, I have always carried one for ten years, just like to have a spare I guess.
 
Aren't you still SU? I've never had a problem with pinions personally... my issue was running a broken Aussie locker for a couple years and not knowing it... :D

Yes I am still SU, and I never had a problem with pinions until I put in Fuel Injection, just way to much torque now.

OH and I am still in need of a spare!!
 
Really, knew I shoulda held yer hand, was completely and utterly sad when I heard you had so much trouble.
Wish I had a spare. I have the earlier flange pattern on all my junk.
I have a used ring and pinion that came from my blowed up arb. Case on the arb and third member are toast but the ring and pinion only got 1 small knick on pinion and a small bit out gear but still run. Come get em if you want. Gotta get the pinion nut off and unbolt gear.
Call first and I can e-mail some pics to see if you think you want them before we get em unbolted
