I could definitely do this… and then get it moving West? I have a trip to CA next month anyway… or do we want to move it East?

Though my 40 isn’t ready today… have another week or two of buttoning up to do on an oil pan replacement. Is the Troopy an acceptable alternate vehicle?

FYI... I've sent a PM to @LandCruiserPhil to look into a handoff here in Phoenix...

I'm in San Diego and up for figuring out where to meet to get it out this way. It would a HOT drive in the 40, lol.

A middle of the night drive might be in order with a morning meeting. Find somewhere to hang out for the day then drive home at night again..Hmm...I could probably recruit another 40 owner to accompany me.

Wrong direction, but I am driving from southern Georgia to Moab at the end of September. Trucking her home cuz I need to get back to work
Hey, I grew up in Orange Park! Clearly we need a baton down here in the southeast.

All right, I'm in now. Assuming my 4-speed is installed by the time it heads to New England. I can bring it to the end of the National Sea Shore on the Cape.
they all started on the east coast and headed westish.....the briefcase actually started in MA

Thanks, @brian. Just did a little more reading and realized I need to post how much I am willing to travel. Ideally around 150 miles which puts me in and around Hartford CT or New Haven. Considering that I drove my 1969 FJ40 (3 speed) from Cape Cod to Fort Collins, CO and back twice…150 miles is nothing.

Here is my Sky Blue 1969 rig at Kelly Flats up Poudre Canyon.

I am good for 500 miles or the whole west coast if necessary! Would like to see it travel all the way up the coast line this time! But would also not mind doing two different legs to include the sierras.

I am also in SD. I am driving my 40 to Dallas before the end of the year. No plans for ‘when’ yet, but it is going to happen.

[EDIT]

Was just in Stanley last week for camping trip with my wife and kids. If its all clear make sure you stop off at Redfish Lake for a few hours at least, if you haven't already. One of the most beautiful places I've seen.

Ha yea - that’s where i setup camp for three days. Did the whole gauntlet in the area - loved it! Boise is bleh, haha.

Took about a week or so to go from whitefish to Boise - easily could have spent more time :( However after chatting with a hatter in Darby - I might move to the area for work - just need to find housing. Money is getting real tight - time to come out of retirement.

Housing is stupid crazy here at the moment. Stupid crazy prices.

The lot next to me is 5 acres, currently listed at $350K
