Not mine, listing for a friend.

1970 FJ40 buggy for sale. Has a highly modified 350 with aluminum intake, torque cam, roller rockers, bored & stroked, stubby headers with single exhaust, a 6x14 K&N, an HEI distributor, and electric fuel pump. There is a 4 core radiator with a Black Magic electric fan.

It has an SM465/NP205 that is twin sticked, mechanical clutch linkage. Also has GM master cylinder and liquid filled Autometer guages.

The body was cut between the cowl and rockers. There are 2 aluminum storage boxes mounted in the back with a 16 gallon aluminum fuel cell, and a cooler rack. Tail lights are mounted in the storage boxes, all lights work on this rig. There are several rock lights mounted to the frame. The windslied frame is removable and the steering column is telescopic and tilts.

The suspension is very soft and flexy for leaf springs. There are adjustable Rancho 9000s at each corner. The wheelbase is 95".

The winch mount is made for a Warn 8274, and is in the center of the rig for pulling in either direction. Winch not included.

The front axle is locked and has Newfield inner axles and birfields. It has 4x4 Labs high-steer with the tie rod begind the axle. The rear axle is a centered FJ40 diff with mini truck axle shafts. It is locked and has disc brakes. Both axles have armored removable diff covers.

The tires are 37x13x15 Boggers with 70% tread on 15x10" beadlocks.

He is asking $6500. Rig is located in Winston-Salem, call Terry at 336-768-8504 if interested. Serious inquiries only, no tire kickers please.

damn... he really lowered the price on that.. I'm sure he'll find a taker at $6500. Hell, I paid nearly that much for mine when it was new-to-me..

I have never ONCE seen this rig fail on the trail other than the usual birfs/shafts - Terry is a damn good welder and if you buy it, planning on spending a few hours at his place when you pick it up - you won't want to leave!

Tell Terry that I said he doesn't look gay.. :flipoff2:

I heard it's got a sick trac bar, any pics?

Interesting. I guess they tie into a frame bracket?

I also heard the motor in that thing is a real screamer - not my cup o' tea, but someone would love beating the hell out of that rig. Looks overbuilt in every capacity (except the sheet metal ).

They take the place of the u-bolt plates on the axle, and mount to a plate welded to the spring hanger. I can put you in touch with him if you want to see if he'd build another pair.

The motor is pretty stout, he had a lot of little things done to it when it was being built.

Somebody needs to buy this rig and put it to use again!
