It appears that the seat frames and the metal seat backs on both 25's I have were originally silver/gray and then repainted (one tan and one black). Anybody know for sure if that was, in fact, the original color? Were any other colors used, like tan or black?

Can anybody post a picture of what an original seat cover looked like? I think both of mine were recovered since the fabric wraps around the tubular seat frame at the bottom and it seems like the seat should be able to be removed from the frame without cutting off the 'pleather'.

I could use the metal seat back plates for both passenger and driver if anyone has some old seats they want to part out. Does anyone know if the seats backs in a early FJ40 would fit the back of the 25 frames?

Thanks,

Pretty sure like about everything else on a 25 they were painted the same color as the body.

Here a link to picture of a 1961 FJ40 seat covers are the same.

Also seat backs thru 1963 should be the same. The driver's seat is the same on the passenger's seat the front leg that bolts by the tunnel cover is a little shorter because the floor is a little higher in that area because of the vacuum shifter on the transfer case.
