Does anyone know if the fj trail teams have lift kits on their fjs. I noticed that they had arb bumpers on the front and was wondering if they were just on the stock shocks?

Two of the rigs on each trail team are lifted and modified:

2" RevTek spacer lifts and longer rear shocks
BudBuilt full skid plates, including fuel tank
ARB winch bumper and Warn winch
285 (33") BFG-AT's

nothin fancy, but it's very functional.

We had the Trail Team on the run I was leading at Rubithon. They said the lift was 3 inches, and everything else as Woody says. The trucks and drivers did great this year, and quieted some of the naysayers. Having seen them in action last year as well, I think the skid plate was a very helpful addition. With a decent rear bumper, you could be very confident about minimizing the damage potential.

I met the Trail Team leader at Rubicon Springs. I'm not sure about skids but they were running a 285-70-16 which is: 285/70/16 = 31.7x11.2/16. If I remember correctly they had very minor damage to either rig (the stock one and the Baja 500 one).

<walks into parking lot, looks....>

285/70R17 32.7" x 11.2"
285/75R16 32.8" x 11.2"

Black truck runs 16's, the wheelin truck run's 17's...both are a rounded 33".

I thought the TRD wheels only came in 16"? I thought they pulled the wheels and tires off of a TRD FJ which (correct me if I'm wrong) came with the 285/70/16. They definitely didn't look like 265s or 295s.

My TRD FJC has 265/75/16 BFG A/T KO's. (about 31x10.5").

I wish it had 285's (33's). Anyone want to traid? I've only got 6k on them.

When I met up wth them last year...none of the FJC's had lifts. They did however have some strategically placed non-factory skids on the underside.

I am not sure about this year.

The Trail Teams did awesome this year on Rubithon. I was the tail gunner on the run that included the FJs. For being almost stock, they did a great job. Kept moving all the time. Robbie is an awesome driver and the best spotter I've ever been on the trail with.

I'd sure like to see them again at Surf & Turf later this year.

Regards

Alvaro

Last years trucks all had the 16" TRD wheel and tire package. This year the replica baja race truch has the 16" TRD wheel and tire package, while the other truck has the 17" wheels.
