I have a 91 fj80 with 264k on it and love everything but the mileage/power. I can deal with the power but the mpgs are keeping me from driving it as much as I want to. I am very impressed with the reliability of the engine and trans. Other than a little rough idle and a small oil leak you would think it had 50k on it, and its got a gear driven cam how cool is that! My friend is selling his 95 FZJ 80 with 216k on it and asked if I wanted to buy it. I do but I would have to sell the one I own to do this. His has lookers/4 wheel disk/rear full floater. I was planning on putting all this stuff on my cruiser eventually and doing a cummins or sbc swap or I could just buy his cruiser and drive it (no swapping required).

What would you do? Whats my 91 worth in fair condition (bone stock)?

Depending on where you are located your truck isn't worth more than 2500. The mpg on the fzj isn't much better than the fj. The only benefit from getting your friends truck is the lockers and discs. The 95 has the lame front grill and more electronics to break. If you are def doing to do a cummins swap, 6bt i would imagine... i would keep the 91.

Depends on where you're from. In CA your '91 is worth around $3k, possibly a little less. Sounds like the '95 would be a nice upgrade if you're looking for discs, lockers, and floating axle, not to mention airbags are always a plus. The only negative in my opinion is the smaller tranny on '95-'97 LC's. Good luck.
