Job Duties:

· Test parts and systems to ensure that they are working properly

· Identify mechanical problems, including using computerized diagnostic equipment

· Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined

· Disassemble and reassemble parts

· Various restoration work on classic vehicles

· Use testing equipment to ensure that repairs and maintenance are effective


Position is for full timework and may include evenings or weekends.

Education and Training:

A high school diploma or the equivalent is the minimum requirement. Completion of formal training in a postsecondary institution is preferable.

· Industry certification is a plus.

· CAD systems experience a plus.

Important Qualities:

Customer-service skills must be able discuss automotive problems—along with options to fix them.

Detail oriented must take apart major parts for repairs and be able to put them back together properly.

Mechanical skills must be familiar with engine components and systems and know how they interact with each other.

Troubleshooting skills must be able to use diagnostic equipment on engine systems and components in order to identify and fix problems. Must be familiar with electronic control systems and the appropriate tools needed to fix and maintain them.
