FJ in the long run??

I'd like to see how other people feel about this, as I am divided on the question.

I love my FJ cruiser.. but in comparison to the other FJ series, how does everyone see it in the line up? Will it end up staying around and seeing many years of use like the FJ 40, 60, and 80? Or will it fade in the next few years as Toyota ended the model?

I guess I'm trying to justify putting mods on it thinking I will keep it for a decade or so. Or if I should cut my loses and restore an older model.

There were literally millions of 40, 60, and 80-series Land Cruisers sold, so as time goes on there will remain a much larger aftermarket of add-ons for these. But if you like your FJC and it serves you well, why give it up just because you think it might "fade" in popularity? A decade of service is nothing to a Japanese-built Toyota, no matter what others may think of it. Mine is already eight years old and over 150,000 miles and still drives as good as new.

I'm worried about popularity other than what it means for finding parts/mods. The other series you still see new things come out for it. Hope that makes sense.

To be honest with you there was stuff coming out for the FJ before it was even released.
I have never seen more vendors come out with cool stuff for the FJ like they did so fast, and they are still cranking out great stuff.
The FJ Cruiser will be around for a very long time.

Toyota is hands-down the best manufacturer by far to keep making and stocking parts for their older models, no one else even comes close. It's almost like they know that their vehicles will last a long time....

I can still walk into the dealer and get an amazing number of factory parts for my FJ40, and it's 35 years old.

I never understood people that loved their cars. Until I owned my FJ. No regrets modding it to my liking. I say go for it.
