strap + winch = bad idea
 
For rolling a vehicle back over, using the strap is not an issue. If you are extracting someone, then the story is different. The tension on a winch cable when rolling the FJC back over is very low.

The strap, if it is the stretching kind, will load with a lot of power. If it breaks the winch cable and hook will whip back with a lot of deadly force.

If it is the non-stretching kind no big deal. we do it every time we use a tree saver.

i see, so best to avoid the giant sling shot scenario, good to know and thanks much.

the strap we used was the non-stretching type.
