Toyota Corporation is hosting an open invitation to our club and the TLCA L.A. County at Gorman on Saturday May 13, 2006 between 9:30-6:00 at the Hungry Valley OHV area.

They will be running trails every two hours and will have sign ups at the campground on a first come, first serve basis. Trail runs will be held at 10:00, 12 noon, 2:00, and 4:00.

Here's your chance to drive and wheel with the new FJ and meet with the FJ Trail Team drivers. They will be BBQ food as well.

Here is some other important information about the event:

Craig Matthews from our club has asked and gotten SoCal TLCA invited to this event!

Requirements: Paid 2007 SoCal TLCA membership, so we can claim you. A four-wheel-drive vehicle and a driving buddy. You will be guided by an FJ Trail Teams driver and, if you are able to drive the FJ, you’ll need someone driving your rig, so bring a buddy or team-up with someone.

I need to inform our host with a count of who will be attending. I need to know how many can make the trip by Friday 05/05/06 or at the club membership meeting on Sunday. Please email craig_matthews@toyota.com if you can make it. I will need your name and if you are bringing a buddy.

I would propose we attempt Lockwood Creek and Miller Jeep trails in the afternoon. I'm going to attempt to talk an FJ Cruiser to join in. I've never been on these trails during the day, only Fright-nights.

So did anyone go? If so, How was it? Thrash any FJ Cruisers? Enquiring minds want to know.

Rich

I was lucky enough to be back in Calif. and had someone cancel out, so Craig added me to the group. I let my son drive my tired (john deere, ask craig) cruiser for the day. Had only been in deserts before. We had fun! Liked the way the FJ's performed for stock vehicles. ONly broke a header flange, but since a daily driver for a vew more weeks, left early. The trails team will be at high desert GO if you can.
Thanks for support from the local club
