Hi there

I believe 2010 onwards FJ model have 268 HP vs the 2007-2009 at 228 HP.

Anyone know the difference in the engines ? I have a 2009 FJ and looking to see if it s worth and possible to add those 40 HP.

Looking forward for your inputs.

Same basic engine (1GR-FE) but the earlier ones had partial variable valve timing (VVT on only the intake or exhaust valves, I forget which) and the later engines have it on all valves.

As far as I know, the timing is the only major change between the 2 versions. The 07-09 only had the VVT on the intake valves. Oh, they also changed the oil filter to a cartridge style filter and moved it up front underneath. PITA kinda. The 07-09 versions can be supercharged while the 10+ cannot yet. I'm not sure of the exact HP gain from the factory TRD supercharger, but I'm sure you'll get more than the 40 ponies your looking for. Add in the TRD exhaust and intake and your all ready for the strip!

Can add 50hp with TRD intake and three stickers.

You mean an bigger air intake ?
What so you mean by 3 stickers ....300 $ ?

I can live with the 07s 239hp, but I wouldn't mind having the 8.2" diff that came with the 2010 FJC along with the increased hp ...
