Could this be right?

The 10 Best Discontinued Cars- Yahoo! Autos Article Page

I don't know how they can say: "... but the FJ Cruiser has never garnered the mainstream appeal Toyota sought." Colorado has the FJC all over the place. They are doing great here.

Does anyone have any more details on this?

There was alot of speculation.................

.............that the FJ would be over after 2009.
That said, the article does list as "unconfirmed" for the date of the last year of production.
Top leadership at Toyota has changed, so I think the jury is out.
New men at that Top always means change; but I am with you I love the truck and I hope it has the same longevity of its name sake.
I certainly hope it outlasts its best rival the Jeep Wrangler ....gm

Well the top leadership should definitely stay the course. I think the new version of the LC is a great vehicle, but how many people that can afford a $70K off road vehicle are going to really use it as such? The FJ Cruiser fills that niche nicely.

I like the Jeep, especially now that they have a 4 door version. I don't think those are going anywhere, but you just can't beat a Toyota, so here to hoping they keel the FJC around for many years.

To be honest they should discontinue the FJC and import the 70 series.
My .02
That would be nice, but according to Toyota, there is no demand in the USA for a solid front axle rig.

Its lucky they didn't know that when they introduced the 80 series landcruiser. :)

I just bought my FJC in Aug 09. At that time numerous dealers told me that toyota was discontinuing it at the end of the year. Now I'm seeing '10 models out. What the heck?!

I'm a huge fan and have been spending most of my forum time in the blue room. Don't worry. None of us really knows when the FJ will cease but I do know not to trust Yahoo, a car salesman and the mainstream media. The first is nearly always using it's stories as shock value. The second will say anything...ANYTHING to sell a car. The third hates SUVS...mine gets 10 MPG on the highway at 75 MPH. I love it, I can feel the global climate changing/warming/ice-ageing as I criss-cross the country.

Toyota is under pressure for their messed up brakes and gas pedals

I noticed that all the messed up recalls where for just about everything except the toyota 4x4 line of suv's and trucks. I think Toyota will be in the FJC market for another 10 yrs. The suv is one of their best sellers. But, if your gonna buy one...get it used and save alot of cash.....you will need it for your mods.:D

Id buy the 70 series diesel. If Toyota asked. 200 series to much plastic, too much$.Drove the fjc and had too many blind spots. MIke

FJ's will never die!!
