If anyone is going to open their A/C system for the first time (or is about to open an A/C systems that was functioning properly) in an FJ-62 I have an unusual request. I would like to know how much compressor oil is needed in the compressor and I cannot get an answer from anyone.
So soon after the compressor is removed if it were possible for the oil to be poured out into a cup so that the amount of fluid can be measured it would be greatly appreciated. I have 3 or 4 compressors but they have all been open to the atmosphere, and after that happens the oil absorbs water so it needs to be replaced. I will not convert to R-134a because I have a good supply of R-12 and it is the better refrigerant for our systems.
So if anyone knows the correct amount of fluid the compressor holds, or they can pour out what they have in their compressors it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to my unusual request.
