I already made a post in the classifieds wanted section. I really need another rocker arm assembly. Without this I wont be able to get my cruiser back up. I am seeking one from any 2F engine.

During the 2FE conversion we went with the 3FE rocker arms and they just do not do the job.

What's not fitting w/ the 3F rockers?

Will a 2F rocker Assy fit under 3FE valve cover?

Hi Jim,

The rocker assemblies interchange. So they bolt in and fit the same. But the pushrods are different. Not only in length, as we all know, but also in diameter. The push rods from my 3FE were a larger diameter on top then the 1977 2F pushrods. The side of the rocker arm that fits onto the pushrods are different. I had already sent my 3FE rocker arm assembly into the machine shop to be reworked. We figured the 3FE rockers would work ok even though they have a bigger cup for the pushrods then the 1977 2F rockers do. But it leds to a ton more valve train noise. And I am certain also requires valve adjustments on a shorter cycle. to keep it all within spec. I wish this one had worked out because it has already been gone over.

Anyway thats the only reason for me to change back to the 2F rocker assembly. Unless we can use another type pushrod that works with this conversion? That would be nice.. any thoughts on a replacement pushrod that would allow better quality?

thanks
dave
