I can't speak for the TrueStart line of batteries specifically, but I can say 6 years is a long time for most other battery manufacturers to operate without issue.

I'm drawing experience from whatever OEM batteries are in Honda, Nissan, Ford, along with NAPA legend batteries and am located in NC. I'm lucky to get 5 years out of my batteries.

It would be a good idea to buy one at your convenience. And I'm sure you've done this, make sure your key opens your door.
