First gen (79-83) Pickup soft topper (1 Viewer)

Hey guys,

Anyone run a softopper on the back of their first gen pickup? Wondering what models might fit. There are quite a few of these on marketplace that look close. i have a bobbed long bed that's about 72" long. Looks like a ford ranger might work and they are actually pretty common. I'm not sure how forgiving Softtoppers are as far as making them work with varying dimensions. I've got one on my 4runner, but that's a different beast.

Does anyone have a confirmed make/model topper that will work on these early trucks? Trying to avoid buying a new one because it would cost almost as much as my truck.

I shortened my long bed as well and wanted to use a soft top for it but I didn’t want to order one and have it not fit. My plan was to just build one out of 1 inch square tube and use a PVC lined tarp that they sell at northern tool.

Luckily I found a fiberglass top off a 1990 Nissan that was the exact dimensions as my cut up bed so I went that route instead.
