Just took it out for the first time with the new mods. What a difference the 4.56s make, I have to shift way sooner then I normally would. It seems to be a lot better matched for its power band.

The lockright is pretty quiet, I only heard it once when I came off of a corner and hit the gas. If you try and accelerate through a curve it does understeer. But so far so good.

I am having problems with the brakes. We got them bled out really good but it still seems mushy. Have to pump it a couple of times to get them to grab.

And I have an odd noise coming from the front right wheel. Its not a grinding noise or anything scary. It sounds kind of... like a baseball card in bicycle spokes. I cant figure that one out, so I will jack up that side and take a look.

Cant wait to take it wheeling.

Hey Jason,

Glad to hear the install went well. What size tires do you use with the 4.56? Did you do the ring/pinion yourself?

On brake bleeding, remember that the order is important - do RR, LR, RF, LF. Brake fluid is cheap, so go on the safe side to make sure you get all those bubbles. If that doesn't cure the problem, then it might be the booster...

Re the brake noise...there is a wear indicator on most brake pads that's supposed to make a noise when the pads are wearing thin...could be the source of your noise.

I am running 33s on it for now, someday 35s, thats why I went straight to 4.56s. Little low but it feels REAL good in town.

I had a well respected mechanic set up the gears for me, I did everything else. He does not own the shop he works at so he likes to get work on the side to supplement his income. Ended up being a good deal for me, saved a bunch just taking the pumpkins to him to set up...

I bled the brakes in that order with my dad pumping, didnt get much better so I think it may be the booster.

Got a chance to lift it up, the noise is definetly the new rotor and the new pads rubbing, it is a consitent sound, not like I first described. I notice as you pass a wall or something you can hear it more plainly from the sound bouncing back. Whatever I passed when I noticed it was like pole, empty, pole... so it made the sound change...
