I am watching the reports here in the Bay Area and talking with my mom about it. It looks really bad.

Washoe County SAR, about 90-minutes ago, came through our neighborhood advising evacuation pending a forecasted wind shift from the SW/W to the NW apart of the front that is to come through.

We're prepared to drive out if we have to...

Been there done that with the waterfall fire in Carson about 6 years ago.

Yep...the wind direction didn't change until it started spitting rain and snow...and by that time they had it ~50% contained. So it got to within about 2.5 miles of our house...made for a strenuous day but nothing compared to the folks that were in the fire's direct path (of course).
