Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to get a fireplace insert to heat my house. I plan on using wood (no pellets) and it has to have a fan.

What are somethings to look out for?

Thank you.

I built in a model by Lennox that has a fan and works quite well. Paid $1,200 for it. I burn wood but have gas as an option and backup.

Energy King. Bigger glass doors for better view. MIke

So you installed it in an existing fireplace? If so, did you take out the dampener?

No, it was not in an existing fireplace, I added this unit to a room in need of a fireplace. I framed, boxed, and plastered just like it was original. The unit came with all the parts needed including the plume.

I have a Buck model 91 catalyst fireplace insert. It puts out lots of heat and does not seem to burn too much wood.

I love my Lopi.
