Nice! I have a few new oem shafts like that. They're not easy to come by!!!!

What year 40 did these come in? Where most coarse spline shafts?

I'm no expert, but believe 40s switched from coarse to fine in 78.

I made the switch to fine, when Georg built my Orion
I got the impression they were scarce...so I purchased it as a spare from Poser years ago.

Other then Strength, as you can imagine they are also easier to engage :)

There are 4 generations of front output shafts.

1) coarse on both ends with castle nut
2) coarse on both ends with stake nut
3) coarse flange fine spline coupler
4) fine spline on both ends ( started in late 77 iirc )
There's also an obscure short nose cone and short front output and possibly another very early coarse smaller diameter spline which means there are a total of 6 different front output shafts. But 2 of them you'll never come across.

Does that mean I should have charged more? :p

As always, thanks for the education

They're still available new OEM but getting a little harder to find. I have some in stock along with new collars and main shafts.
