I finally took out my HIDs after a ballast went out. Decided to do the retro myself and turned out great. I got all the parts from The Retrofit Source. I will be uploading pictures once I get some time on the computer. Long story short it was a great project and turned out amazing. I would recommend it to anyone.

The install for the FJ is incredibly simple compared to most retrofits. Because I use a H4 bulbs there is a H4 retro conversion. No cutting like most conversions. I just heated up the head light assembly to take the cover off. Then I took the kit and slipped it in and put the cover back on. After that it was just some time in a dark parking lot adjusting them to my likings.

Those look awesome! You should post pics of all the different lighting configurations. I'd love to see a pic of the cutoff.

I need to get some quality night photos with a DSLR camera so that the picture will show what the human eye actually sees unlike the iPhones little camera.

Call them up. They have many more options in shop than they do online. I honestly don't remember the exact price but I'm guessing around $400.

Also I'm sorry that I have not posted more pictures yet. School is sucking my life away...

Better photos to come. Here's a quick iPhone shot. The actual color is a little warmer than white so don't use this picture as a color reference.

There is no link. I went to The Rertofit Source and picked this up. They are 3" FSR's with Gatling gun shrouds. They are powered by two morimoto 50W ballasts. Morimoto is TRS's brand and is very good. As some of y'all know there is a Morimoto LED light bar group buy right now. The best I can do is to say go google the retrofit source and click on the first link. They will not have 3" FRS's online but I would think you could ask for them.

I've been looking recently at getting an HID kit installed. I replaced a lot of the lights in my car with LEDs including the dim little morror lights so that they now actually have a purpose. But the color i chose for the mirror lights was cool white which has a K around 9,500 so i've been thinking of getting an HID kit that is 10,000K so that it matches.

Iknow a lot of people dont like to go that high which the Ks because it starts to get a little blue but thats my goal actually lol

Not trying to sound rude here but 10,000k is past cool blue. A light begins to look blue at 5000k and at 6000k the projected light looks blue. 10,000 will look purple and project blue. If you want to match your standard cool white LEDs you want 5500K-6000k that's what I did and they match perfectly.

Oh okay, thanks! All I know is that the cool white color does look blue and that I would want my headlights to match them instead of being the yellowish color they are now. It would just give it a much more modern and clean look, plus of course, it's brighter! :D
