It had been rattling, noisy, faux-chrome peeling off the shifter trim not to mention it's very loose in the opening (likely the cause of my rattle), cup holder lid not staying closed. Now I know why. The poor thing is beat to s**t underneath. 5 of the 6 pressure clips are broken off, cup holder lid mechanism broken. Not just missing screws but broken.

Do I bite the bullet and buy a whole new one (looks like $285 online with cup holder) or is there a more creative solution out there? Will it be cheaper from cruiser dan? Other ideas? Crap! I know, I could have worse problems.

I just ordered one myself. You might be able to fix your, but someone that worked on my truck before I got it broke it in two places and the chrome trim wouldn't stay put either. I just decided I was tired of looking at it.

But you gotta do what makes you happy.

Pretty sure mine was ruined by a 'high-end' stereo installer as it started rattling after I left them in a huff after paying $250 dollars to be told they couldn't install my equipment. Who'd you order from and what'd it cost ya?

Cruiser Dan is a great resource and highly recommended. This time I ordered from Toyota of Dallas, because they have similar pricing and I can pick up the parts from them just down the road.

cruiser dan has been pinged...... thanks.

So you guys are just talking about the top part which I believe includes the cup holder? Please report back when you hear from CDan. I kind of jacked mine up taking off the wood grain, but the biggest issue is the cup holder lid.

I'm seeing them online for as low as $260 from supposed dealer. My local dealer wants $350+tax and tells me it includes a warrant which I "won't get online". Sounds like CD is out of the office so hoping to hear from him soon.

Just picked mine up and installed yesterday. The interior looks 10 years newer !! Amazing how that one, scratched up, broken piece of plastic made the whole interior look so old. It definitely takes the majority of the wear and tear.

The Cruiser is a happy girl !

curious to know if it was the one with the little hole/pocket thingy and if the shifter trim ring is still faux chrome? congrats!

The coin compartment to the left of the shift selector is not included. Used my old one. Shifter trim ring is still "chromed" plastic.

I've had the best luck pulling up from the back at the cup holders first and then working your way forward. Be sure to disconnect the seat heater switches and the switches for the tranny mode (2nd/Power) before you pull up too much. I also find it easier to put the tranny in Neutral and pull up on the handbrake.

Thanks. was wondering if that was the case, but the opening is there for the coin holder? It looks from the diagram that it also comes with a new boot for the H/N/L range shifter? I really hate that chromed plastic. Mine is completely peeling and horrid looking. Perhaps a candidate for plasti-dip pre-install.

Opening is there for the coin holder. Yes, new boot too. The chromed plastic will look good for a few years. You can buy just that piece alone at that point. Or, skuff it with some really fine sandpaper (1000 grit) and paint?

Thanks. I'm hopeful I'll be a proud owner of a new one soon.

New console arrived from CD in less than a week from ordering. Installed yesterday and yeah it looks lovely and the cup holder lid actually works, but the best part is NO rattling anymore!. Thanks Dan.
