4 channel 600 w amp under driver's seat... 2 channels power 230 w Pioneer 6x9's in doors, bridged chs 3+4 to truck wedge mounted in back driver's side / mirror of where stocker sub should go. Install pretty clean and easy. Picked up a piece of flatbar steel from Home Depot, cut to size (about 19") and bridged the two anchor points already there... drilled a series of holes in the flatbar, painted it black and then bolted through flatbar into sub cabinet.

Only issue I had was that I was unable to find the junction box in the front of the vehicle behind the head unit that separated the dash speakers from the door speakers, so I had to run new feeds.

Low level converter works pretty well, still very minor amp whine, biggest prob is I cant find a 12V trigger to turn amp on when Head Unit turns on (doesnt seem to be a power antenna lead available) so I'm all ears if someone knows where a 12V trigger is so I can run the amp only when head unit is on.. currently tiggering it off of the accessory fuse in the fuse box... so amp runs all the time and consequently you can hear slight whine when hea unit is off. Would be unnoticable if tied to head unit trigger.

Power:

Also added 4 x cig lighters... put two side by each in the dash hatch... both tagged into the cig. lighter... one powers garmin 2820 (very very cool unit) and other powers bel RX65... nice and clean as there are now no wires running down the dash.

installed roadyxt for XM... picked up a bracket that nicely hangs it right under the fan switch... cords run into dash under bracket.

Burried a female lighter socket behind dash to power the XM, and also soldered into the BACK of the AUX AUDIO connector leaving it clean/ open on the front, no wires.

Installed one other cig. lighter socket in the console cubby hole area thingy (behing gearshift) tagged in with amp power source so there is at lest one powerpoint hot all the time (charging cel phone etc... powering cooler etc)...

I'll post pix later

Anxiously waiting for pix :)

sorry.. not gonna happen now 4 a while.. go sidetracked and now heading out on a roadtrip to try it all out...

gotta say that the BEST thing I ever did was sitck all these power points in the FJ.. the two in the dash hatch are awesome.. cords for the GPS and radar have only a very short distance to travel now and install is clean and uncluttered. I also used the centerconsol outlet I installed to charge my celphone! yay! finally!>.. plus that one is hot all the time so I can charge my phone without the ignition on.

I highly recommend do these mods, and hope that toyota wakes up and smalles the coffee, cuz it sure would've been a lot easier to do this at the factory level and charge customers $500 more.
