I used this K&N for 2 years with no issues. Then I added a filter bag over it to help keep it clean for the last year. Today I pulled the bag off to service the filter and found the filter had collapsed. I'm assuming the bag was too restrictive, causing a big enough vacuum to build in the intake to collapse the filter.

Is this common? My engine is just a stock 4.8L so its not pulling crazy amounts of air.

Makes you appreciate how much air those motors move, way more than the old sbc. I have same filter, same motor ( 6.0 ) and have no bag and it looks almost new. NO JOKES ABOUT HAVING TO DRIVE IT TO GET IT DIRTY......
