I recently removed my radiator to replace my waterpump and in the process some wires were disconnected as well… i found myself puzzled when i tried to make sense of where 3 loose cables are supposed to connect.
- a blue / white one coming from the firewall on the drivers side
- a yellow long one that could be connected to the thermostat, but not sure it should
- a black connector that comes from the top of the 3b engine

I also have 2 connectors on my thermostat housing and dont see a cable that should conect to the green connector. See pic.

Any insights are highly appreciated 🙏🏻

Note: I have a bj44 that originally had a 2b engine, which was replaced by a 3b from a bj42. The thermostat with 2 connctors is the original bj44 one .
I kept the slower glow the bj44 came with as it was to complex to transplant the faster glow from the bj42, so it might be a clue.

Are you running manual glows and EDIC?

To my knowledge, the yellow wire tapped into the Thermostat housing belongs to the Super Glow system & Glow plug timer.

The big Black T connector I think belongs to the Glow system as well, originally it’s connected to the big glow plug solenoid I think. Disregard if you have a manual glow plug.

As far as the white and blue wires go, I think white is always ground, but not sure about blue.

Thank you for your answer. the black one might indeed be part of the later 3b superglow, which does not exist in the bj44 wire harnass. The blue/ white is one striped wire, not 2 separate wires.

Yes i have manual glow and edic

White with a black trace is always an earth, not plain white.

The green temperature sender on the thermostat housing is only used for the Super Glow system, not needed if you have a standard fixed delay glow timer.

On my BJ60, if I remember correctly, blue with a white trace is for the windscreen washer pump.

so that means the yellow/white wire is then correct for the thermostat? I leave the green connector untouched and the black one connected to the head as well, however this is odd as the thermostat housing with the green plug is the one that came with the bj44 with slowglow...

also, i already have another plug that goes to the washer bottle pump with an L shaped connector (didnt took a pic of that one, so i dont remember the color, will look today)
